Jennifer, I agree! Part of what I love is definitely the highly visual nature… it’s really about something catching your eye. Nice to have that part of my brain being the one doing the sort and search!

The best way to make sure things are "pinnnable" is to use a few larger images rather than a bunch of smaller ones. Even if your site/page has several images, if they are all thumbnail size, pinterest will return a "sorry, we couldn't find any images on this site" error message. If you have old blog posts without images, for example, like I do... go back and add a great image for the best chance of having those become pinnable.

For me, Pinterest feels like the notebook I kept as a kid. I would cut pictures out of magazines and glue them into the notebook. It's just all fun, flashy visuals---Flickr without all the pressure to be original and artistic.

Is there a right way or wrong way or easier way to make sure the images on a website are easy for users to pin with proper back links?

Great thoughts here, Mandy. I just love discovering new things via Pinterest. Visually appealing, easy to us, and really quite fun.

Mandy, you are SO RIGHT! I'm not an artist or designer or tech producer, but I try to keep myself thinking originally. I do a couple of things to make myself do that. I assume people are smart. When we try to make things too easy or too convenient or too simple, because we think people are stupid or too busy (sometimes the one mirrors the other), we end up with a lesser result. I also like to challenge assumptions. Or maybe I'm just belligerant and ornery... Of course the hardest assumptions to challenge are your own because they're harder to see. For that and other original thoughts still full of wonder I hang out with kids.

It's not completely open yet, but I think it's supposed to be within the month. I do think there will be a different de-glowing for Google + because of the potential for wider reach and faster adoption. Perhaps we'll see more of a mass adoption rather than the growth over time that sucks in marketers? I don't know, but I think will be interesting to watch!

I thought it opened up today to everybody? Thought I saw that posted on Twitter. I think it will be same old same old & much like private networking groups such as those on Facebook. Once the glow is off all SM venues seem to go the way of the marketers.

It is a wonder... And wow, yes! What will mobile phones be, or be replaced by, in 10 years? That would be a shift for so many platforms built on cell communication.
